There have been many queries and Emails in Tehblogger Facebook page asking how to get a verified account. The trend of verifying account are not new in Social networks. 

What is a Verified Account 


Verified Names are having a verification badges/check marks along with their names in these Social Networking websites, that help people to find out and identify the Official channel, profile, page about a business or a popular celebrity.
According to YouTube "When you see the verification check mark  next to a YouTube channel's name, it means that the channel belongs to an established creator or is the official channel of a brand, business, or organisation."

 For Google Plus, you cannot simply get a verification badge. Google will provide you with a verification badge.  If you are having a branded account its very easy to get verified. Always remember that a branded account is very different from a normal account.

Rules for getting a custom URL

There are a few rules to keep in mind when you’re trying to get a custom URL. If you’re having trouble, make sure:
  • You have ten or more followers (people who have added you to their circles)
  • Your account is at least 30 days old
  • Your profile has a profile photo
  • Your account is in good standing

Steps to get

  1. If there is a custom URL available for your account, you will see a banner at the top of your screen.
  2. Click the link in the banner.
  3. You’ll see the custom URLs you can choose from. You may also need to add a few letters or numbers to make it unique to you.
  4. Next to “I agree to the Terms of Service,” click the box > in the bottom left corner, click Change URL.
  5. You may be asked to verify your account using your mobile phone number. If you’re asked to do this:
    1. Type your mobile phone number > in the lower left corner, click Send code.
    2. Check your phone for the code that was sent to you.
    3. Enter that code in the box on your screen, then in the lower left corner, click Verify.
  6. When you’re ready to permanently add your URL to your profile, click Confirm choice.

For Google+ Business Pages

 There are many methods to verify a Business page in Google+

Method 1:  By Postcard


To verify your business listing by postcard, enter your business address in Google My Business. You’ll be sent a postcard with a verification code. Most postcards arrive within 12 days. Before you request to verify your listing by postcard, make sure that your business address complies with Google's address entry guidelines.

  1. Sign in to Google My Business.
  2. Choose the business you'd like to verify, then click Verify now
  3. On the postcard request screen, make sure that your address is displayed accurately. If it isn't, edit the address before you request your postcard. You can also add an Optional contact name to help your postcard reach you.
  4. Click Send a postcard
  5. Check the mail for your postcard. Most postcards arrive within 12 days. Don't edit your business name, address, or category, or request a new code while you're waiting—this may delay the verification process.
To enter the verification code:
  1. Once you receive your postcard, sign in to Google My Business
  2. If you manage more than one location, click Manage location on the location you want to verify.
  3. Click the Enter Code button on the blue banner at the top of the page. 
  4. Enter the 5-digit verification code from your postcard in the "Code" field. 
  5. Click Submit

Method 2: By Phone

Some businesses listings are eligible to receive a verification code by phone. If your business listing is eligible, you'll see the "Verify by phone" option when you request verification. If you don't see this option, request to verify your listing by postcard instead, using the steps above.
To verify your business listing by phone:
Desktop
  1. Sign in to Google My Business
  1. Choose the business you’d like to verify, then click Verify now.
  1. Make sure that you can directly answer your business phone number to receive your verification code.
  1. Click Verify by phone to have the code sent to your phone via an automated message.
  1. Enter the code from the message.
Mobile
  1. Open the Google My Business app.
  1. Tap Call me now.
  1. Enter the code from the message and tap the arrow icon.Arrow icon
Once you've entered your code, your business information will be eligible to appear live on Google Maps, Search, and other Google properties.  



2.  For Twitter Account

The blue verified badge on Twitter lets people know that an account of public interest is authentic. 
Twitter approve account types maintained by users in music, acting, fashion, government, politics, religion, journalism, media, sports, business, and other key interest areas. If you believe your account is of public interest and should be verified, this article outlines information about submitting a request.


Submitting a request

To be able to complete the form, your account must have the following:
  • A verified phone number
  • A confirmed email address 
    Note: If the account is a company or organisation account, the email address associated with the account should be a company or organisation email address.
  • A bio
  • A profile photo
  • A header photo
  • A birthday (for accounts that are not company, brand, or organisation accounts)
    Note: This information will be displayed to the audience that you’ve chosen. There are visibility settings available for your birthday that allow you to separately control who on Twitter can see your birth year and who can see your birthday and month in your Twitter profile. 
  • A website
  • Tweets set as public in Tweet privacy settings
For requests to verify individual accounts (that do not represent a company or organisation), Tweet requires a copy of your official government-issued photo identification (e.g. passport or driver’s license) in order to confirm your request. Information used for this purpose will be deleted.

Profile and account recommendations

Some common characteristics of verified accounts include:
  • If the account belongs to a person, the name reflects the real or stage name of the person.
  • If the account is a corporation or company account, the name reflects the real name of the corporation or company.
  • The profile and/or header photo reflects the person, the corporation’s branding, or the company’s branding.
  • The bio specifies an area of expertise and/or a company mission.
