Google Photos update comes with airplay streaming

Google Photos rolls out its new update for iPhone. This update allows iPhone users to cast the images to Apple TV using air play.


Bearing version number 2.14, the update is available from the Apple App Store.


Google often keeps on introducing new features for its iOS app. More recently, the tech giant rolled out a new feature to its Maps app, making it easier for users to remember where they parked their

iOS users can simply tap the Blue dot in Google Maps and select the option from the list seen at the bottom of the screen. If users connect the handset with the car using USB audio or Bluetooth, their parking spots are automatically added to the map when the disconnect is disconnected and the user exits the vehicle.

The search giant has also added a new directions widget for Google Maps users on iOS. The update brings features for easier location sharing and the Timeline view, which has been there on Android for a while now.

Google also launched 'Motion Stills' app exclusively on iOS in June last year. The app works in tandem with iOS' Live Photos feature and uses video stabilization to freeze the background in still images for creating cinematic pans.

As a result, iOS users get a looping GIF image with the subject and other surrounding objects moving, whereas the background stays still. The search giant added that the app does not require an internet connection.

Google says its algorithm uses 'linear programming' to guess a virtual camera path, removing the shakiness and using a still background or cinematic pan instead
